Discovering a location for your video vision doesn’t have to be a headache. Sam clues you into the secrets in getting the right location for the cheapest budget.
  • Even free locations need permits. Be sure to budget in time for the paperwork before shooting when considering your deadline.
  • Many places look similar so consider a cheaper option, like a local park over a big name place like Central Park or Piedmont Park. They all have beautiful landscaping, green grass and shady trees. You may have an easier time shooting around people at a smaller location, and it may be easier to obtain permitting making sure you shoot on time.
  • Let us scout! You know what you want in your video, and if you’re working with AMP you have storyboards and have had many conversations with your project manager to make sure we understand what you need. Let us take a day to scout possible locations to see not only which one fits your project best but what time of day would be best for the shot.
  • Time of day can greatly effect your video. Shooting at the wrong time can lead to bad shadows, needing a lot of lighting equipment, or even too many people in the background. So while it may be a little inconvenient to shoot at a specific time, please keep in mind it’s simply to get you the best footage for your project.
