Want to make sure the videos on your website are performing the way they should? Bunny gives you some tips to make sure you know that you’re doing it right.

Many modern websites have a splash video playing in the background when you arrive. This can take up a large portion of the screen, or completely consume the background. This is likely the one major video you want for your website.

When building out this video, you want to keep it short. If you could pitch your company with visuals only in 5-10 seconds, what would you show? That’s what you want in your video. You want to make sure to get a version with and without audio- and the version with shouldn’t have any talking in it. This video will be listened to without sound for the most part (having a version with sound is usually kept for places like faceboook, where it is also watched without sound, but can have the sound turned on my the viewer).

Once you upload your image to your website, you’re going to want to make sure it loops automatically. This is usually a feature found in the backend of your website. Another thing you’ll want to do is put a filter over the video to wash it out a little or darken it a bit (which way you go depends on the color of your website). This way it’s not overpowering the rest of the site, and not detracting from the text or logo you’ll have overlayed overtop of the video. This can be achieved on the backend of your website, or added to the video before export.

Other types of video on your website that are great are video testimonials as your visitors will be able to see and feel the happiness of your clients. This goes so much further than quoted text (which is also good to have for SEO under the video).

Product videos are also fabulous. This allows the visitor to see what you have to offer from all angles and they’ll have a better idea of how your product hangs, operates, is assembled or other uses it has. This may be the deciding factor for a customer to buy from your site before someone elses.

Don’t feel like you need to limit yourself. You can upload videos to your blog to help build a community bond with customers. You can give tips, show off your workspace or employees, or have fun with your videos and show that you’re people just like your clients.
